By the way, we totally did play our annual Halloween show. I got so stoked about it that I had a stoked-stroke, preventing me from making any updates. It was weird. Pictures, and perhaps video, will be posted as we can.

The Doc’s Car Party

Saturday, September 17th, we will be rocking a Kokomo neighborhood alongside rows of exotic cars. That’s right, it’s the end of summer, so it’s time for The Doc’s Car Party. We end every summer this way — food, friends, cars, and overdriven guitar tones atop a diamond-tough rhythm section that grabs your ear, pulls it close, and pins the thing in place until the last note fades into the coming autumn.

This year, we’ve added a few acoustic songs, proving we not only are capable of completely blowing your mind right out the side of your meaty skull, but we can caress both your ear’s sensitive hammer & anvil and your delicate feminine side. You know, the side of you that likes to wear lace and sip hot tea with a touch of lemon and a spoonful of honey. Yeah, we’ve got your spoonful.

Dog Day Afternoon Featuring Woofstock Featuring The Handicapper Generals

We will be wrapping up this year’s Woofstock festivities once again! Last year, we played to a crowd that was fried to such a crisp by the late June Sun’s angry rays, they were all but immune to our searing licks and smoldering minor thirds. This year, we will playing at a (potentially) slightly cooler period of the season, at a venue that offers more grass than pavement. To further accentuate the dichotomy, we’ve worked up a full 45 minute set of New Age ambient music using djembes, didgeridoos, wind chimes, and tiny bird calls*.

Come out to Carmel’s Dog Day Afternoon on Sunday, September 11th, and enjoy good music with your dogs. Literally. I mean, bring your pets.

* That is all a lie. We’re going to play the blues like we always do. I still wish I had a didgeridoo.

The End of Summer

Summer is coming to a close, and though most people associate this event with Labor Day, the H-G men associate the end of summer with The Doc’s Car Party. Despite the loud music and fast cars, the party is always a relaxing, laid-back event. It’s as sweet as the dessert that inevitably follows the party’s big dinner, with just a hint of bitterness as the thought of cold weather dances in the shadows to The H-G’s fuzzy pentatonics.

This year, we’ll be rocking The Doc’s quiet little neighborhood on September 25th. That marks the official end of summer. Labor Day is for schmucks.
